May 22 - New Skills For Adult Learners Week
British Forces Gibraltar employees and dependants have been learning a variety of new skills at taster sessions offered by the Joint Education and Training Unit.
The activities have been planned as part of the celebrations for Adult Learners’ Week which is a national initiative in the UK and runs from the 18th – 24th May. It encourages participation in different kinds of learning and offers organisations the opportunity to showcase the types of learning they can provide.
The courses on offer have been diverse including Basic Car Safety, Stress Management, Basic Life Support, Crafting and Tae-Kwon-Do. Key parts of the Command volunteered their time and experience to teach others a new skill and encourage the adult learning theme.
Royal Gibraltar Regiment Chef Cpl Neil Wink ran a Cake Decorating session which was well attended and participants learnt how to make the perfect scone filled with strawberries and cream and the art of professionally icing a cake.
