A joint Team Building event for social workers was held at Buffadero Training Centre late last week. It was organised by British Forces Senior Social Worker Richard Abbott and 9 members of the Social Work Department along with Sean Sullivan from the Education Department took part.

Richard said, ‘the aim of this morning’s event is to foster the strong relationship between the MOD and Government social workers. We regularly work closely together with our RG families and we jointly deliver our monthly Safeguarding Children training.’

C/Sgt Leigh Thorne from the Royal Gibraltar Regiment devised the event, which consisted of memory training Kim’s Games, Basic First Aid Training and an Observation Stand. The Basic First Aid Training was a good reminder of how to respond in the event of an emergency; participant Karen Dawson said, ‘the training has been excellent, it’s one thing to read about how to deal with a casualty but when you act out the scenario it really sticks in your mind.’
