Jan 08 - Governor Visits Command Diving Element
The Governor, Sir James Dutton, has paid a visit to the Command Diving Element as part of his familiarisation tour of British Forces Gibraltar.
The Diving Element consists of two teams of four Royal Navy divers led by Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Ian Fleming. They work on a rotational basis to provide a 24-hour continuous clearance diving capability.
CPO Fleming briefed the Governor on their role in Gibraltar and showed him various pieces of diving equipment including the Decompression Chamber.
