Feb 19 – Update On Cormorant Wharf Storm Damage
19 February 2015
These pictures, sent in by a YGTV viewer, show the damage caused when an entire section of the roof of an apartment block in Cormorant Wharf was blown off by strong winds on Tuesday afternoon. Tiles from the roof hit the windscreen of a luxury vehicle parked below but there are, luckily, no reports of any injuries.
The strong winds earlier this week caused trees to fall over in Rosia Road and windows to shatter in the Upper Town. Yesterday, the MOD issued a warning to motorists and cyclists crossing the runway. Today, gusts have continued in and around town with squally conditions prevalent across the Bay.
