Jun 11 – Convent Open Day In Aid Of RICC
The Convent will once again open its doors to the public when Sir James and Lady Dutton will host the popular Convent Open Day on Saturday 27th June.
The Convent garden will be the setting for cream teas, gardening stands and plant stalls. The formal rooms of the Convent will also be open to the public, including the Banqueting Hall with its extensive display of heraldry and the Ballroom where the Fine Arts Society will exhibit a selection of paintings.
The Red Cross, Heritage Society, Mount Alvernia and St Bernadette’s will all host stalls on the day. Throughout the afternoon there will be displays by the Gibraltar Defence Police Dog Section and children’s activities, including a bouncy castle, a climbing wall, static paintball and performances by the Christian Santos Choir.
Proceeds from this year’s Open Day will go towards the charity for Research into Childhood Cancer.
Doors will open from 11am until 3pm. Advance tickets will be available from Tuesday 16th June from the Convent Main Reception between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Tickets are free for Gibraltar residents (proof of residency will be required both on collection and admission on the day).
Tickets for non-residents are priced at £2 for adults and £1 children (under 16) and senior citizens. Ticket numbers are limited. Tickets will also be available on the day, subject to availability.
Disabled access to the Convent reception areas and most of the garden is available. Anyone with special needs or requiring assistance is encouraged to contact the Convent in advance.
