Jul 15 - BBC's Tom Heap Visits Gibraltar
Star of BBC’s Countryfile and producer of the renowned Costing the Earth programme, Tom Heap, was in Gibraltar with his team on Tuesday to cover the UK Overseas Territories Conservation Forum Conference currently being held in Gibraltar.
During his time on the Rock, Mr Heap had the opportunity to go out to sea with Clive Crisp, head of the Department of the Environment’s Dive Team, to witness the biodiversity of Gibraltar’s protected Southern Waters along with the recently expanded and pioneering artificial reef network.
This follows the increasing interest being generated by the media on Gibraltar’s visionary marine conservation strategy which is being showcased this week as part of the conference proceedings.
The marine tour was followed by a recorded radio interview with Dr. Liesl Mesilio-Torres and Mr. Stephen Warr who elaborated on the conservation efforts that have taken place following the publication of the Marine Protection Regulations.
