Oct 17 - Minister Linares Congratulates Jonathan Bear And The Gibraltar Pool Association
The Minister for Sport, Steven Linares, has publicly congratulated young Jonathan Bear and the Gibraltar Pool Association for their outstanding success at the 2016 World Pool Championships that took place in Killarney, Southern Ireland, last week.
Jonathan, together with his partner Anthony Mcaleer from Ireland, beat England 3-0 during the finals becoming the Under 15 World Pool Doubles World Champions and the first ever World Pool Champion for Gibraltar.
The Minister said: “This is a prime example of pure hard work and dedication, Jonathan’s achievement should not be underestimated and he can be truly proud of his world class success. His success adds him to the list of the many local sports persons that continuously contribute to promote Gibraltar internationally. Well done”.
