Two 5-a-side matches were played yesterday evening featuring a team from No. 6 Convent Place against teams of Special Athletes.  No. 6 narrowly won the first match 6-5 and the second match was a 2-2 draw.  A spokesperson said: “Both were played in a great spirit with lots of atmosphere being provided by the sizeable crowd.”

The No. 6 squad was: Fabian Picardo, Gilbert Licudi, Steven Linares, Michael Llamas and the following staff members from No. 6: Gareth Flower, Caine Sanchez, Javier Redondo, Gareth Ochello and Arun Aswani.

VIP Supporters attending were Ministers Samantha Sacramento Paul Balban. A minute’s silence was observed in honour of Bryan Vinent and Steven Tosso, both Special Athletes’ football coaches who have passed away recently.
