Apr 29 - Regional Vice-President Of Commonwealth Games Federation Visits Gibraltar
Chris Jenkins, the Regional Vice-President of the Commonwealth Games Federation, has been on the Rock for meetings with the Commonwealth Games Association of Gibraltar. The local Association intends to submit a bid to host the Commonwealth Games Federation General Assembly in October 2016.
At a meeting at No 6 this morning, the Chief Minister committed the Government to providing organisational support for the bid if it is successful.
During Mr Jenkins’ visit, the local Association also discussed Gibraltar’s role within the European Region, its participation in the Gold Coast (Australia) Games of 2018 and in the Durban Games of 2022.
