Jul 14 - Lions Sign Perez As Head Coach
Lions Gibraltar FC have signed up Juan Luis Perez Herrera as their head coach. This appointment was formally approved yesterday by the Board of the newly acquired Lions and the parties have agreed terms and signed a contract that will see Mr Perez lead Lions senior team in this year’s league, cup and hopefully if successful European campaign. Mr Perez, who is a UEFA qualified coach, with considerable experience, had previously led another local team to European success. He expressed confidence that given the resources in terms of current and future signings he would be able to achieve success, particularly given the depth of the youth programmes in Lions.
Mr Perez says that the key to a successful side is team work and the right work ethic, a philosophy that echoes with the club’s management old and new. Mr Perez says he understands the ambition of the club to build a truly successful local side and he appreciates that this will come in time as young players develop. The club says it also recognises that international players may assist this building process and a true mix of experience can only assist the club.
The club says it believes that Mr Perez is the right man to take the club forward this season and looks forward to supporting him in his endeavours. Any players interested in forming part of this campaign should contact the club.
