Dec 13 - Energy Efficient RAF Gibraltar Helps Father Christmas
13 December 2013
In a bid to promote environmental sustainable development, RAF Gibraltar has announced that the runway lights will no longer be left on constantly during periods of poor weather or darkness, but will instead be switched on only when flights are due to take off or land.
British Forces Gibraltar says that they are committed to reducing their carbon footprint wherever possible and energy efficiency is a vital aspect.
There will however be one exception: on Tuesday the 24th December, the runway lights will be left on for the evening, so that Father Christmas and his reindeer can safely navigate their magical sleigh into Gibraltar and deliver everyone’s presents!
