Sep 02 - “Gibraltar’s Own eBay” - RockBid Business Launch
Yesterday saw the official business launch of the local auction website RockBid.
RockBid is an online auction service similar to other popular auction websites, such as eBay.
The founders say it’s an easy and cost effective way of buying and selling online, with the peace of mind that the seller gets paid instantly and the buyer has a guarantee of receiving the purchased item.
The site also has a dedicated business section that allows for a low cost and hassle free method for businesses of any kind to have or extend their products / services to Gibraltar and the surrounding area. Businesses will not be limited to Gibraltar and the surrounding area, as the site can also be used to promote one’s business worldwide. Options for advertising and direct links to a business’s website are also available.
The ides is to create what will become a one-stop shop for anyone wanting to buy or sell online.
“Businesses in Gibraltar have in the past stated that they have lost sales to online purchases, now they can compete with sector of the market, with minimal cost and no hassle.
“We had a soft launch in June and since then the interest has been rising constantly, now that we are officially launching, we are confident that we can help Gibraltar by filling this gap in the market,” said a spokesperson for RockBid.
The launch was held yesterday evening at Latino’s in Casemates. Minister John Cortes attended the launch as well as representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and the GFSB.
Anyone can register at www.rockbid.net - just register a personal or a business account list your products and start selling right away.
