European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for ForeignAffairs José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels on Thursday 16th May.
Dr Geraldine Finlayson of the Gibraltar Museum will be bringing us up to date with progress on Gibraltar’s World Heritage Bid in a lecture entitled “Bidding for World Heritage Status – the story so far.”
The Year 1 students from St Mary's First School studied the local apes as part of their humanities programme of study. Brian Gomila from Monkey Talk gave a series of educational talks on monkey behaviour, which were well received by the pupils. These talks aimed to instill a greater local appreciation of the macaques and were in anticipation of a series of small-group, parents and children outings, organised through the school.
HMS Dauntless arrives in Gibraltar tomorrow for a short visit before heading back to the UK following a successful five month deployment to the Middle East.
Hazel Cumbo has been appointed as the Chief Executive of the Gibraltar Courts Service, having been Acting Chief Executive since 2013. The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for matters pertaining to the provision of the administration support to the Judiciary. She works closely with the Chief Justice to agree policies and procedures and service standards to ensure that the needs of the court and court users are met. She is also responsible for endeavouring to deliver excellent service, focused on the needs of the public, lawyers and court users.
