Private Conor McGinn, 18, is the latest Royal Gibraltar Regiment recruit to Pass Out at the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick.
Private McGinn has done exceptionally well throughout his training and was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Soldier’s Soldier’ during his Pass Out Parade. The award often means so much to a young soldier because it is voted by the other recruits in his platoon.
The suggestion by the Chief Minister that the GSD is advocating a return to the 1999 Agreement is, according to the Opposition, “absolutely nonsensical and another attempt to divert attention away from the fact that he has not kept his express manifesto promise that his Government would put an end to net fishing in BGTW ‘immediately’”.
On the rock for six weeks, taking over the Gibraltar Regiment’s security duties as they carry out their annual exercise in the UK, 113 soldiers of the 10 Signal Regiment are relishing working, as the weather heavily improves. The fleet is a diverse one, made up of specialists from a host of troops around the UK and Northern Ireland.
