The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, today met with the Foreign Secretary, Rt Hon Lord David Cameron, at the Foreign Office in London in order to discuss the outstanding issues and matters in the ongoing negotiation with the European Union in relation to Gibraltar.
The Government says that the proposal for an external lift to serve the gallery of the Parliament is part of its commitment to upgrade access for those with disabilities to public buildings. The plans were recently presented to the Development and Planning Commission.
Last year Unite the Union, together with the Construction and Allied Trades Association, came to an agreement of a 7% wage increase on a 3 year deal and enhanced working conditions to the Construction and Allied Trades Agreement. A great achievement as construction workers pay and conditions had not been reviewed for a number of years.
