    The Government says it notes, “with disappointment”, the European Parliament’s objection, today, to the entry into force of the European Commission’s decision to remove certain jurisdictions, including Gibraltar, from the EU’s list of ‘high-risk’ third-countries with strategic deficiencies as regards anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (“AML/CFT”).

fabesThe Chief Minister will be addressing the Law Faculty of Cadiz University tomorrow evening. Mr. Picardo has been invited by the University to give a Talk at its premises in Algeciras.

The title of the talk is ‘Gibraltar, its relations with the Campo Area and Opportunities for the Future.’ During his brief stay in Algeciras, the Chief Minister will hold a Press Conference for local and Spanish media.

Nov 27 - Lidington Tells Commons Diplomatic Bag Incident was a Junior Operational Error

lidington Following yesterday’s report that Guardia Civil officers at the Gibraltar Spain Frontier opened a bag belonging to a Diplomat, the Minister for Europe in the UK, David Lidington today announced that the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recognised that the bag was in fact a Diplomatic bag. They also reassured the UK that there would not be a repeat of these actions.

Nov 27 - A Week in Snooker

snookerWith snooker matches continuing down at The Crucible over the past few weeks, Mark Brooker of the 1st division stood up against Steve Webber, winning 2 – 1. Andrew Garnett beat Rich Ammonds 2 -1, with Rich only finding his form in the last frame. Another surprise was Sean Galligan’s 2 -1 win against Lee Prickman. Chris Shimidzu failed to hold on to Mukesh Bahkru as Mukesh secured the only 3-0 result of the round.
