With immediate effect, Line Wall Road has been reduced to one traffic lane due to unforeseen undermining of a section of road in an area south of the NatWest building. A contractor has been engaged to undertake necessary repairs as a matter of urgency.
Jun 10 - Government Signs On for Eco Wave Renewable Energy
The Government of Gibraltar has this week signed its first power purchase agreement for the provision of renewable energy.
The agreement with Eco Wave Power is for the provision of an initial 0.5MW energy device on the eastside, with a view to further expansion up to a full 5MW plant if the project is successful.
Jun 10 - Unite Seeks to Resolve MoD Pay Addition Issue
Last week a delegation of Unite attended a meeting at the MoD Centre in Whitehall in order to discuss a pay addition claim for locally employed civilians working for MoD Gibraltar.
Unite's Acting Regional Officer Christian Duo said that although the meeting was cordial in nature, both sides have expressed their views on the matter and strong differences exists between the parties.
