European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for ForeignAffairs José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels on Thursday 16th May.
The GSD notes that there is a possibility of another ship-to-ship transfer of LNG in the Bay of Gibraltar today and that the Chief Minister is scheduled to pay these ships a visit. The party says that it does not understand what this visit achieves. People, argues the Opposition, “do not want another photo of the Chief Minister; they want clarity and reassurance as to the safety of ship to ship transfer of LNG in our Bay.”
The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, has highlighted the long and historic relationship between Gibraltar and the United States during a series of meetings in Washington. In a busy schedule during the first day of his visit, Dr Garcia held meetings at the offices of both Democratic and Republican members of Congress on Capitol Hill.
