What is the truth about the finances?
I normally have trouble balancing my own budget, let alone one of a country, what I do know; by the end of some basic maths is what I have spent and what I have not.
Now if you listen to either Chief Minister Mr. Fabian Picardo or the Leader of the GSD Mr. Peter Caruana in what has been nearly a week of a pathetic game of who is telling truth tennis, I come away none the wiser.
My all time favourite Author Terry Pratchett once wrote, “A lie can run round the world before the truth has got its boots on.”
What is the truth about the finances? Are we in dire straits as Fabian Picardo would like you to believe or are we rolling in dosh, as Peter Caruana would tell you?
I am sick to my back teeth of this childish and often-worthless exercise of he said, she said. How old are these people we intrust with our money, seven? (And it is our money).
If Mr Fabian Picardo feels that Peter Caruana has been misleading the public on the state of the finances, then lets see, if he can put our money where his mouth is and get the leader of the opposition in front of a commission to answer to all the allegations and end this rubbish once and for all.
If not shall we just get on with running the country as best as we can and hopefully see improvements, rather than the endless bickering?
