Sep 25 - Animals In Need Foundation Launched Tomorrow

Tomorrow will see the official launch of the Animals in Need Foundation in Gibraltar which will take place at Bruno’s in Ocean Village.

The charity will be collaborating with the Government of Gibraltar, the Gibraltar Veterinary Clinic, the Royal Gibraltar Police and H.M Customs to ensure the prevention of cruelty to animals in Gibraltar and elsewhere.

There have been a number of charity events held to support the charity, including a pre-GMF party held at Eclipse Lounge.

Dr John Cortes, Minister for the Environment said: “Any organisation that works for the welfare of animals is to be welcomed and their work encouraged. I wish the 'Animals in Need Foundation' every success.”

Dr Mark Pizarro, Gibraltar Veterinary Clinic said: "The Gibraltar Veterinary Clinic congratulates those whose hard work has resulted in the formation of the charity 'Animals in Need Foundation'. All at the Vet clinic will work with this much needed charity to help the animal population, educate the public and assist the charity and the RGP as necessary."

"Congratulations on the launching of the charity 'Animals in Need Foundation'. The RGP will work closely with this organisation to eradicate any form of cruelty to animals and will have a zero tolerance approach in this regard. We will be appointing an Animal and Wildlife Liaison Officer to work closely with the 'Animals in Need Foundation'," said Eddie Yome, Commissioner of the Royal Gibraltar Police.

John Rodriguez, Collector of Customs said: "As the lead agency controlling the imports and exports of animals and endangered species, HM Customs looks forward to working closely with the 'Animals In Need Foundation' in pursuance of its aims and objectives."
