Oct 30 - GFSC Raises Money For Prostate Cancer Support Group Gibraltar

This summer, the GFSC raised £700.50 for Prostate Cancer Support Group Gibraltar. The initiative was led by the GFSC’s Risk Manager, Nicholas Gomez, who organised a ‘Free the Knee’ day in August during which all staff were allowed to wear smart shorts to the office.

To help raise funds, twelve male members of staff agreed to wax a strip of hair off each leg if a target of £500.00 was raised for the charity. A ‘breakfast roll morning’ also contributed to the fund raising.

Mr Gomez said: “The ‘shorts day’ was an appropriate theme as we all know how hot our summers can be, and whilst keeping it smart, we wanted to invite GFSC staff to wear shorts to work in aid of charity”.

Mrs Barrass, CEO at the GFSC, added: “This was a great way to encourage staff to raise money for a very worthy cause. Staff exceeded the target by some way, with all digging deep in to their pockets”.
