Dec 18 - Christmas Jumper Day At St Bernard’s Middle School

The children at St Bernard’s Middle School enjoyed a loud and fun-packed Christmas Jumper Day at their end of term concert this morning.

Singing and dancing routines from the students led to an exclusive performance by Frontiers (formerly ‘This Side Up’).

Christmas Jumper Day is an annual fundraising campaign organised by the charity Save the Children. Today, people are encouraged to raise funds for Save the Children by wearing a Christmas jumper and making a donation.

Paul Lyons, from the charity, said: “The money you’ve raised means that some children across the world will be able to eat on Christmas Day – they won’t have an iPad or an iPhone, they won’t have any toys but they’ll be able to eat and that’s thanks to you.”

The Minister for Education, also sporting a colourful festive jumper, said: “St Bernard’s really has got talent! It’s been an awesome competition and it’s great to be here during your first Christmas in your new school.”
