Feb 09 – Clubhouse Gibraltar Thanks Morrisons – Charity To Receive Unsold Food
Clubhouse Gibraltar is pleased to announce that they have been chosen as one of the Gibraltar charities to benefit from their new 'Stores Unsold Food Donations to Charities' policy.
Clubhouse Gibraltar is now receiving weekly donations of food that has either passed their ‘Best Before' dates but is still in good condition or within its 'Use by' dates.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “This initiative is proving invaluable in preparing our daily meals with Clubhouse members by considerably cutting down costs of our food shopping whilst providing a healthy and nutritious variety of lunches as part of our work-ordered day.
“A variety of tinned food and frozen food as well as other items such as pre-packed bread items are being donated, following successful trials in more than 100 stores in Yorkshire and the North East of England.
“We are very grateful for having been nominated for this programme and would like to extend our warmest thanks to the Morrison's Gibraltar team for this very welcome support which is helping us immensely.”
