Sep 07 - International Day Of Peace To Be Marked In Gibraltar

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The General Assembly of the United Nations has declared this day to be a day of global cease-fire and non-violence, a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.

 

The Integral Yoga Centre invites people from all faiths and backgrounds to attend this year's World Peace Day celebrations free of charge.

 

An organiser for the event said: "It is not a political or a religious event. Our aim is to convey a strong message to all that each one of us has an equal and important role to play in working towards world peace.

 

"All around the world people are standing up for peace. This is our chance to join them."

 

This year's celebrations, organised by the Integral Yoga Centre Gibraltar, will take place on Wednesday 21st September at Boyd's, King's Bastion Leisure Centre from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

 

There will be speeches from various speakers representing the greater Gibraltarian community, award-winning dance performances by Danza Academy and peaceful live music by One Light.
