Sep 20 - Deloitte Charity Spinathon Next Month
Deloitte Limited is hosting its annual Charity Spinathon on Saturday 15th October in aid of The Calpe House Charitable Trust.
The event will involve members of staff cycling in relays for 12 hours (8am – 8pm) on stationary bikes placed outside the firm’s office in John Mackintosh Square.
In order for the community to take part in this event, Deloitte will be hosting a “Corporate Challenge” which will involve members of staff from different local companies attempting to cycle the longest distance within an hour.
The winner of the corporate challenge will have their name engraved on the trophy, win a prize and have the chance to beat the Deloitte team! There will also be another bike available during the day for volunteers who wish to take part in this individual challenge and contribute to this worthy cause.
Apart from the cycling, Deloitte has also organised a variety of fun activities for the public to take part in during the course of the day including bouncy castles, a gladiator arena, face painting and a raffle.
Last year’s event proved to be extremely successful, raising a total of £6,400 for Gibraltar Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society with the winners of the “Corporate Challenge” being Bassadone Group (team Alpha) on bike 1 and Eastgate Limited on bike 2. A spokesperson said that they hope that this year’s event is even more popular and successful in order to raise funds for such a worthy cause.
