Sep 26 - Launch Event For Relay For Life Gibraltar 2017
The hugely successful Relay For Life is back again next year. This is a 24-hour event which will be held at the Victoria Stadium and aim to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research Gibraltar will be hosting a Launch Event one year ahead of the Relay For Life 2017, with a small reception this coming Wednesday 28 September at 7pm at the Med Rowing Club.
During the reception, the date for Relay For Life 2017 will be revealed and Laura Danielson will be present as the Guest Speaker.
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Laura came to the UK as a Cancer Research UK-funded postdoctoral research fellow, in the lab of Professor Louis Chester, at The Institute of Cancer Research. There she studied a type of children’s cancer called neuroblastoma; a fast-growing cancer affecting around 100 children in the UK each year.
Now, as a Research Information Manager at Cancer Research UK, instead of just being a scientist doing the pioneering CRUK-funded research, she also gets to communicate about all this work to the public, in an easy to understand manner.
