Nov 29 - Chestertons Collects 490 Football Shirts For Charity

Chestertons’ charity appeal in conjunction with UK charity KitAid generated 490 unwanted football shirts in just three weeks.

The appeal opened on Monday 5th November and closed on Friday 23rd November. KitAid finds new homes for unwanted football kit in Africa and other under privileged areas of the world.  The appeal was announced on local radio and as a result, local and international courier DHL stepped in to offer their service for free.

“Not sure what we expected, but it certainly wasn’t 490 shirts” Mike Nicholls, Chestertons’ CEO stated.

“We are really pleased with this year’s innovative style of charity appeal, it seems to have resonated with a lot of people with shirts they couldn’t bear to throw away, but were never going to wear again.  Now these shirts have a new lease of life.  A very big thank you to everyone who donated.”
