June 06 - Miss Gib Contestant Raises Over £500
Miss Gibraltar contestant Arian Barton (19) raised £532.05 for forces charity Help for Heroes. Arian came along to The Tower at HM Naval Base to present the money to WO1 Gary Mitchell who is the Gibraltar Co-ordinator for Help for Heroes.
Arian raised the money with the help of her dad Nigel Barton and tunnel tour guide Pete Jackson; they decided to offer two charity tunnel tour events which were publicised through Facebook. It generated quite a lot of interest and each tour attracted around 20 visitors who made donations to the charity.
Arian explained why she chose to raise money for forces charity Help for Heroes, “I have always respected Help for Heroes; no one in the family has been in the military but both my dad and I have always respected them.”
If anyone wants more information on what the charity does or on how they can support the charity then please contact WO1 Gary Mitchell at [email protected]
