Jul 20 – New Cots For Rainbow Ward

Six baby cots, worth more than £15,000, were donated to the Rainbow Ward at St Bernard’s Hospital by the Guardian Angel Foundation.

Paediatricians and nurses from the children’s ward and the Minister for Health, Dr John Cortes, received the donation for £15,362 on behalf of the hospital for one high-dependency cot and five regular cots.

Dr Cortes said: “I would like to thank the Guardian Angel Foundation for this donation and any contribution we can get is always welcome because it means it frees up our resources to get more and better things for the health service.

“I am sure the excellent staff in the Rainbow Ward will enjoy the fact that we are getting new equipment.”

The Guardian Angel Foundation Chairman Kevin Hook explained that they were looking at how to help local children in need. Their first project was a sensory room at St Martin’s School, the second contribution was by providing the cots, and they are looking to refurbish the playroom in the Rainbow Ward with a sensory play area and brand new toys in the near future.

Speaking on behalf of the Guardian Angel Foundation, Mr Hook wanted to thank Ocean Village and Atlantic Suites health clubs for its contribution to the charity.
