Mar 16 - Busy Morning At The Supreme Court: Updates On Attempted Murder, Murder And Child Sex Abuse Cases

A 31-year-old man pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and wounding with intent at the Supreme Court during a case management hearing this morning.

Jensen Duarte’s case has been adjourned to 24th May for a trial date to be set.

A man who accused of assisting the illegal immigration of six Moroccan nationals into Gibraltar pleaded guilty to the charge.

The incident dates back to January earlier this year, when Mohammed Dkhissi was stopped aboard a RHIB at sea off the North Mole by the Royal Gibraltar Police.

A pre-sentence report was not requested and Dkhissi will be sentenced on Friday 23rd March at 10am.

A sentencing date was also set for Richard Dellipiani, who was recently convicted of sexual activity with a child under the age of 13.

A pre-sentence report was requested at the end of his trial last week, and Dellipiani will be sentenced on 12th April.

The man accused of murdering his wife in their home in Gib V in November last year also appeared at the Supreme Court this morning.

Real Lishman is awaiting his indictment for the charges - the docket of evidence has now been received.

Crown prosecutor Robert Fischel QC confirmed that a full post-mortem report had been received, and the defendant has been examined by the psychiatrist and they are now awaiting the resulting report before they can proceed.

Lishman continues to be remanded in custody and will appear at the next case management hearing on the 26th April.
