Jun 05 - Man Charged With Arson Following Varyl Begg Fires

A 33-year-old local man has been charged with Arson.

Karl Henry Danino was arrested on Sunday night by uniformed officers of the RGP’s Operations Division who were responding to reports of refuse bin fires in the area of Varyl Begg Estate.

The investigation was subsequently handed over to detectives from Criminal Investigation Department.

Following enquiries carried out into the incidents during the course of yesterday, Danino was interviewed by the officers and was later charged with three counts of Arson.

Danino was declined Police Bail and will be appearing before the Magistrates’ Court later this morning.
