Jan 05 - Two Men Arrested And Charged For Alleged Pizza Place Burglary

Following a burglary at Mamma Mia Pizzeria & Pasta House in the early hours of Monday 4th January 2016, Area Response Team officers pursued and arrested 18-year-old Nabil MEDHURST EL HABALI of Constitution House, Glacis Estate, on suspicion of Burglary. A second person was able to make good his escape.

Following an extensive investigation and execution of Search Warrants by CID officers throughout the course of that morning, 18-year-old Kyle LOPEZ of Referendum House, Glacis Estate was also arrested in relation to the same burglary.

Whilst still in Police Custody, MEDHURST EL HABALI & LOPEZ were arrested by CID officers in relation to several outstanding burglaries committed between 13th November 2015 and 2nd January 2016.

Both were later charged jointly with six counts of Burglary and detained at New Mole House pending their appearance before the Magistrates’ Court this morning. 

UPDATE: Both men pleaded guilty and have been remanded in custody. A pre-sentence report has been requested and they are due to appear for sentencing on Friday 22nd January at 10am.
