Jul 04 - Man Charged For Upper Town Knife Attack
A 31-year-old local man was charged yesterday in relation to a knife attack in the Upper Town.
John Paul Pereira, of Tower House, Moorish Castle Estate, was charged with one count of Wounding with Intent and one count of Possession of a Bladed Article.
The charges relate to an incident on Saturday afternoon when Pereira was arrested by officers who had responded to a report of a fight that resulted in another man being hospitalised with injuries believed to have been inflicted by a bladed article.
Pereira remains in custody at New Mole House and will be appearing before the Magistrates’ Court this morning.
