Jul 11 - HM Customs Acting To Curtail Illicit Activity At Waterport Terraces

The Government says it has received reports of illicit tobacco activity in the area of Waterport Terraces. As a result, Customs has immediately started an operation to clamp down on any such activity in the area and has started investigations to determine the identities of the parties who may be responsible for the activities in question.

The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, said: "We have acted to ensure that we have taken out of Glacis and Laguna the anti-social behaviour that related to illicit tobacco activity. We will once again act without hesitation to curtail any such activity in the Waterport Terraces area. HM Customs operations have started today and will continue until this activity is curtailed."
