Jul 12 - Jet-Ski User Reported For Exceeding Speed Limit Within Inner Harbour

A 23-year-old man was reported for process yesterday evening for exceeding the five-knot speed limit within the Waterport Wharf Enclosure channel on board a locally registered Jet Ski.

The RGP takes this opportunity to remind all mariners, particularly small pleasure craft and Jet-Ski users of the five-knot speed limit that exists within the Inner Harbour, incorporated into the Port Act since May 2015.

More information on marine-related issues and safety guidelines can be obtained through the Safety at Sea guidelines, recently published jointly by the Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA), Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) and the Gibraltar Maritime Administration (GMA). Hard copies of this publication are available at the GPA offices at North Mole, GMA office at Casemates Sqare and both New Mole House and Casemates stations. It can also be viewed/downloaded online from each of the agencies’ websites at www.gibraltarport.com www.police.gi and www.gibraltaryacht.com
