Aug 31 - Amphetamine Trial: Defendant Pleads Guilty

The Supreme Court trial of a local man accused of possession with intent to supply more then £3,000 worth of amphetamines has come to an end today.

The jury was dismissed after the defendant, Warren Rae, was advised by his defence counsel Patrick Canessa to change his plea.

Rae pleaded guilty to one count of possession with the intention to supply 12.22 grams of amphetamines in a mixture weighing 98.14 grams and one count of possession with intent to supply 1.47 grams of unmixed amphetamines.

Rae had previously also pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of the same drugs. 

Puisne Judge Karen Ramagge Prescott requested a pre-sentence report and Rae will be sentenced on Wednesday 5th October.
