Sep 02 - A Teenager And Local Man Charged With Burglary

A 19-year-old man and a teenager have been charged with two burglaries which took place at a kiosk and an office in the south district in the early hours of Thursday morning. 

Kyle Lopez, of Referendum House, Glacis Estate, and a 17-year-old teenager who cannot be named, were arrested after the  Area Response Team officers responded to information from an off-duty officer regarding persons seen acting suspiciously in the area. Monies suspected to form part of the proceeds from one of the burglaries were seized.

Lopez and the juvenile were jointly charged last night in respect of one Burglary, with Lopez additionally charged for the second burglary. Both will be appearing before the Magistrates’ Court this morning.

In connection with this investigation, an 18-year-old local man was also arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of Burglary, and is currently on Police bail pending further enquiries.
