Oct 07 - Man Charged With Possessing Offensive Weapon Following Incident In Casemates

A 33-year-old Spanish national has been charged with one count of being in possession of an offensive weapon.

Luis Jesus Moreno Marquez, of Macmillan House, was arrested yesterday evening by Area Response Team officers who were responding to reports of a man brandishing a knife in the area of Casemates Square. A butterfly knife was seized from him.

He is due to appear before the Magistrates’ Court this morning.
