Oct 27 - Mother Found Guilty Of Cruelty To “Bruised” One-Year-Old Daughter

A mother has been remanded in custody after a jury at a Supreme Court trial unanimously found her guilty of cruelty to children.

The jury had previously heard evidence from the defendant's daughter who said her mother "slapped", "whacked" and "kicked" her one-year-old sister around in a police interview filmed at the time of the incident in January last year. The court also heard earlier this week that the child was "covered in bruises." 

The defendant, represented by Simon Diable, has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Monday 21st November.

Puisne Judge Karen Ramagge Prescott presided over the trial and prosecutor Carl Ramagge appeared for the Crown.
