Mar 29 - Willis’s Road Brawl Duo Plead Not Guilty

Two Willis’s Road neighbours appeared before the Magistrates’ Court this morning after they were arrested and charged following a brawl in the Upper Town earlier this week.

William Vasquez, 61, was charged with one count of affray and one count of being in possession of a bladed article. Defence lawyer Patrick Canessa indicated his client would be entering a not guilty plea.

Elliot Gilbert, 50, represented by Charles Bonfante, indicated he would be entering a not guilty plea for one count of affray and one count of being in possession of an offensive weapon.

The case has been adjourned until Wednesday 2^nd August and both defendants have been bailed out to a sum of £300 each on their own recognizance.
