June 26 - Going Equipped Charges – Juvenile Charged

A local man together with a juvenile were arrested at Casemates Square on suspicion of going equipped for burglary in the early hours of the 25th of June following an operation by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department.

Francis MERCIECA of 28 Blackwatch House, Laguna Estate, aged 38 and Jordan PEREZ of 95 Referendum House, aged 17 were jointly charged with one count of going equipped for burglary.

Francis MERCIECA was additionally charged with one count of handling stolen goods in relation to an incident in April of 2013.

MERCIECA was kept in cells pending his appearance at the Magistrates’ Court at 1000hrs today whilst PEREZ was released on police bail to also appear at the Magistrates’ Court at 1000hrs today Wednesday the 26th of June.
