Aug 09 - Four Local Men Arrested For Tobacco Offences
Shortly after midnight on Friday the 9th of August officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police detained four local men and arrested them for tobacco offences.
A 39 year old local man was arrested for possession of a commercial quantity of tobacco. A 59 year old local man was arrested for breaching the terms of a tobacco licence and two further locals aged 30 and 24 have been arrested for being knowingly concerned in the attempted exportation of tobacco. All have since been released on bail whilst inquiries continue.
A total of 200,000 cigarettes of various brands were seized together with a locally registered vehicle.
