Aug 02 - RGP Reassures Community over Cross Frontier Tensions
The Royal Gibraltar Police is aware of increasing public concern with regard to potential external provocations as a result of the current political tension with Spain.
Commissioner Yome would like to reassure everyone in Gibraltar that the RGP is alert to the possibility and is working towards preventing any potential breaches of the peace.
One such example is the proposed trip into Gibraltar by a group of Spanish motorcyclists, supposedly in support of the Spanish fishermen. The community should rest assured that such events, solely intended to antagonise, will not be allowed.
The build up to the National Day celebrations has now commenced and the Royal Gibraltar Police will work to ensure that everyone can enjoy the festivities.
