Dec 23 - Two Locals Charged After Early Morning Drug Raid
In the early hours of Sunday the 22nd of December, officers of an Area Response Team arrested and charged two local men suspected of committing drugs offences.
Following investigations Brendan BARNES of Canton House, Varyl Begg Estate, Gibraltar, aged 35 was charged as follows:
1) One count of possession of a controlled drug, approximately 25 grams of Amphetamine.
2) One count of possession of a controlled drug, approximately 12 grams of Cannabis Resin.
Also Stephen MAKEY of Tank Ramp, Gibraltar, aged 30 was charged as follows:
1) One count of possession of a controlled drug, approximately 9 grams of Cannabis Resin.
As part of the investigation residential premises were searched with the assistance of the RGP Police Dogs.
Both were later released on bail to appear at the Magistrates’ Court at 1000hrs the 23rd of December.
