Mar 03 - 2500Kg of Cannabis Resin Seized by RGP
Shortly after 1.30 am on Sunday morning, officers of the RGP Marine Section were alerted to a suspect vessel navigating in Gibraltar waters. Following a short search the vessel was located within BGTW, with four occupants and loaded with bales of Cannabis Resin. All four occupants were arrested on drugs offences and the vessel and drugs seized.
Mustapha El Ouahabi aged 41 from Larache, Morocco, Sufian La Achiri aged 19 from Ksar Seghir, Morocco and Hamid Bouti Glay aged 24 of Tarodaut, Morocco were charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug, 2500kg of Cannabis Resin, one count of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug, and one count of importing a prohibited import. A sixteen-year-old Moroccan youth from Castillejos was also arrested during the operation. The men were kept in cells pending their Court appearance this morning.
