Mar 13 - 10 Month Imprisonment for Laptop Thief

courtLocal man Borja Polvillo Martin (also known as Borja Bossino), born 25/08/82, was today sentenced to 10 months imprisonment by Justice Barrington Black in the Supreme Court following the theft of a neighbour’s laptop.

Mr. Bossino, represented by Justin Phillips, had a previous string of drug related convictions and pleaded guilty to the charge of Domestic Burglary following an incident that occurred in October 2013. Bossino committed the crime whilst under a probation order placed on him by the court in August 2012 for former drug related charges.

The incident saw Bossino allegedly take a neighbour’s laptop from inside a window that looked out onto a shared patio in the defendant’s estate. Justice Black penalised the defendant for breaching his neighbour’s trust, and emphasized that laptops hold a certain level of personal and sentimental value in their contents.

Following the incident, Bossino sold the £400 laptop for £100, providing his ID card during the sale. Justice Black dubbed this a ‘not very clever disposal of goods’.
