May 02 - RGP Launch Campaign To Combat Underage Drinking

Officers from the Royal Gibraltar Police have commenced a campaign in order to curb underage drinking.

A number of officers started this campaign by visiting licensed premises and reminding them of the law in this respect, which under the Children and Young Persons (Alcohol and Gaming) Act 2006 makes it an offence to supply a person under the age of 18 years with alcohol. Offenders can be fined up to £5,000 and in the case of a licensed establishment can also result in the trading licence being revoked.

In the photograph can be seen Superintendent Richard Ullger and Inspector Brian Finlayson visiting one of these premises.
