Jun 17 - Special Olympics Summer Games
Beginning Tuesday 17th June, Special Olympics Gibraltar will hold their 29th annual Summer Games.
The Opening Ceremony will take place at Victoria Stadium at 6pm followed by the Athletics Events. There will be a short interval of entertainment after which the events will finish with Melissa Hales leading everyone in the Albert Hammond song “One Moment in Time”.
Wednesday morning, (18th) the football events between Gibraltar, Isle of Man , Barbate and Algeciras will provide plenty of thrills and spills.
On Thursday (19th) 6pm, the GSLA Pool will be the scene of the ever exciting Aquatic events. We welcome HE Sir James Dutton accompanied by Lady Dutton.
A spokesperson for the Special Olympics insisted that they welcomed everyone to join them to support our athletes in their enthusiasm and joy as these Games unfold. They really live up to the Athletes Oath, “Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt”.
