Dec 16 - GPA to Investigate Allegations Against RGP Following Selection Weekend

In Mr Gonçalves’ absence, Mrs. Naomi Hassan-Weisfogel attended the meeting, providing ‘her own feedback on the RGP's selection weekend, given that she had been present for a large part of the process’. After receiving a very full and detailed response on the allegations from the RGP.

The decision has been made to carry out an investigation and have the GPA provide a factual report of each of the allegations made, as soon as possible. The GPA will carry out the relevant investigation, which will include the collection of statements of recollection from applicants who attended the weekend.

The Governor commented on the matter, saying that ‘swift action [will] be taken to verify the facts of the incident in question, before deciding on the appropriate course of action’. Both the Chief Minister and Governor are in agreement that local procedures should be followed wherever possible. He added, ‘should these be exhausted we will then consider the possibility of engaging an external organisation to undertake further investigations.’
