Feb 12 - William Hill in Takeover Talks with 888 Holdings
The Times recently reported that Gibraltar based Gaming giant William Hill had been part of advanced talks to take over online gambling company, also based in Gibraltar, 888 Holdings. Since the report was released, shares in 888 have soared 24%. RTE claims that trading volumes have reached nearly five times the stock’s daily average.
The takeover approach is said to be part of William Hill’s wishes to expand and improve ‘technology, International diversification and omni-channel’. The Telegraph reported that the companies were discussing a £750m takeover.
